Blackwater SCUBA
Recreational SCUBA training
Fortunately, it is all not ugly water and cold diving. The earth is 70% water, so get out there and see it! We offer recreational diving certifications for anyone over the age of 12. Most Open Water classes are very flexible, and usually take 3-4 days, depending on the schedule setup. Advanced Open Water classes are two days, and many specialty classes can be done in 2 days.
Blackwater pricing includes EVERYTHING you need, for each session, whether it be pool or quarry. Airfills, gear rental, student kits, and instruction are all included in the fee. We even will go back for another lesson if the student needs it, and will not quit until you are safely and happily cruising through the water.
-Open Water Certification
The first step in a dive career or hobby, this gets you a card good around the world. The basic training of the SCUBA world. Classes can be held entirely in a local quarry if water conditions allow, or we might take to a local pool. Either way, you will learn dive equipment, physiology, emergency management, gear setup and teardown, and dive planning, just to name a few topics. After your skills are honed, we take to the water for 4 or 5 checkout dives in local waters.
You can also do the classroom work up here, and do your checkouts with another instructor in exotic locales, thanks to the universal referral program.

You will need an open water student kit, availible on the equipment page at a discount. This consists of a mask, snorkel, booties, and fins, which are then yours to keep. You will do much better with equipment fitted to you than from a rental tub. Open water students also can take a 10% discount from the prices shown, excluding sale, used, or clearance items.

- Advanced Open Water Certification
The natural next step up, where you will dive at night, deeper than 60 feet, learn very basic search and recovery/rescue, and in water navigation. Many students roll the AOW class into a package deal. Call for details!

-Specialties
include ice, night, deep, wreck, current, full face mask, and others. We also are glad to offer a "tune-up" class for divers that have not been wet in awhile, and strongly suggest these divers do this tune up before diving. Skills erode with time!
