Blackwater SCUBA
Public Safety Dive Instruction
The down and dirty part. No visibility, entanglements, diver emergency, search patterns, gear selection, and rescue recovery techniques are all covered in depth, with pool and open water field training. Contaminated water, SOPs, and Dive command are also covered. Classes normally run for 2 weekends, or 5 days, and an Advanced Open Water card by any agency is a prerequisite. Consider this Basic training for Public Safety Divers.
Level One Public Safety Diver
Level 2, 3, 4, and Master Public Safety Diver
The sky is the limit after getting started. Levels 2,3,and 4 expound on the Level 1 training, with boat ops, vehicle recovery, full face mask, and more. Master Public Safety Diver is the highest rating attained before training to Dive Supervisor levels or higher.
Dive Supervisors have the skills, training, and common sense to oversee or even stop a very risky mission. They have to operate under pressure, have a plan at all times, and have great skills.
Do you have what it takes?
Dive Supervisor training is often done alongside Level 1 or higher classes, and canidates will quickly be intregrated into supervisory roles, but are under the watchful eyes of Blackwater SCUBA instructors.
Public Safety Dive Instructor
Dive Instructors may teach recreational students, Public Safety Divers, and Dive Supervisors. Very demanding, and both Supervisors and Instructors must pass a written exam and skills test before being certified. Previous recreational instructors can train for public safety work.
